About My Fear

About my fears, yes those that frighten me deep;
Their eyes red scare me compellingly to mediocrity,
Their elephant-size bodies taunt me to never try, to never act,
They have a force, frightening that molds my stagnation.

About my fears, yes those that mock me;
In amusement, great fascination,
In unimaginable merriment, I’m the crown,
They, my captors laugh at the plight they sew to my existence.

About my fears, yes those that I desire to escape;
They have chained me, caging me in uncertainty,
They have but told me nothing is possible,
I am drained of my glow, no hope in me lurks.

About my fears, yes those I abhor;
I would that I be able to face them,
I wish, one day, to resist their enslaving grip,
I pray to tame my ears to deafen to their crippling suggestions.

This I write to all,

About fears, yes the reason we excel not.
